As a National Youth Initiative for the Internet Governance Forum, Youth IGF Mauritania seeks to give significant voice to young generations in crucial debates about the future of the internet.
With this goal in mind, the Youth IGF Mauritania initiative is a platform aimed at raising awareness among young Mauritians about Internet governance and encouraging active participation of the new generation in discussions and reflections on solutions to address Internet-related issues. This approach aims to give young people significant influence in shaping the decisions and future directions of the Internet, underscoring the importance of their involvement in crucial debates that shape the evolution of the digital landscape.
The objectives of Youth IGF Mauritania are :
Youth engagement in the Internet ecosystem
Promoting active and informed participation of young Mauritanians in the Internet ecosystem by connecting them with stakeholders.
Capacity building in Internet governance.
Contributing to strengthening the capacity of Mauritanian youth in Internet governance by providing learning and development opportunities.
Promoting cybersecurity awareness among young people
Protecting young Mauritanians from the dangers of the internet by focusing on cybersecurity awareness and online crime prevention.
Awareness of Internet issues
Encouraging youth to identify and understand emerging issues related to the Internet, thereby strengthening awareness.

The objectives of Youth IGF Mauritania include: promoting youth participation in the Internet ecosystem, raising awareness about emerging Internet-related issues, promoting cybersecurity and preventing online crime, enhancing youth capacities in Internet governance, and encouraging youth engagement in Internet governance decisions in Mauritania.
Youth IGF Mauritania is a National Youth Initiative for the Internet Governance Forum (IGF). We aim to give meaningful voice to younger generations in crucial debates about the future of the Internet, in alignment with the principles and objectives of the global IGF.
You can get involved by participating in our events, contributing to our online or in-person discussions, sharing your ideas, and joining our community on social media. Any Mauritanian youth aged 15 to 35 interested in Internet governance issues can become a member. You can also sign up for our newsletter to receive regular updates.
